A permanent internet connection is preferred, but if that is not reasonable in your situation, the options listed below can provide a temporary network so you can receive the updates your Advanced eXperience needs. Keep in mind, the further behind your system is, the longer it will take. AX systems also provide a Local Access Point (AP) network for offline remote control ability. This will not allow the updates as it is not an internet connection.

Connection Options

Leave System in Location

To connect to the internet while keeping your AX system where it is, you can:

  • use a long Ethernet cable, plugged in directly from your building's router. (Only an option if your building has internet.)
  • set up your smartphone as a hotspot.

Temporarily Move System

Another option is to temporarily move your AX bell-ringing system to a place which will provide a constant internet connection.

  1. Power down your system by tapping and holding the light beside the touchscreen. Let go when it turns red. The shut down process is complete when the light is solid blue, not blinking.
  2. Turn the system around and take a clear picture of the back of the system to remind you how everything should be plugged in, then unplug all cables and accessories.
  3. Take with you the AX system, the power cord and the USB WiFi Adapter Antenna.
  4. Once you are at home or at a nearby location where you can access the WiFi, plug in the WiFi antenna, then plug in the power cord.
  5. Then setup the WiFi or connect to a router with an Ethernet cord.

Please plan to have your system online from Monday, June 26th through Friday, June 30th. If you are using a temporary solution, it's best to make an appointment with us when you plan to have your system connected to the internet so we can begin the update. Otherwise, contact us once your internet connection is set up.
