The AX line of digital bell instruments was designed to work with Chime Master's inSpire Audio™ systems. inSpire DSP power amplifiers are pre-programmed to optimally power and protect the speaker drivers used in these audio systems.

Carillon control and status

While a user is logged in to the bell ringing system using the front panel screen, the amplifier remains awake (fully powered and ready to play). After the user logs out (either a time out or by pressing the lock in the top left corner of the screen), a time delay will return the amplifier to sleep (the power saving standby mode).

Scheduled automatic events will turn the amplifier on one minute ahead of time. When the amplifier is instructed by the system to wake, twenty seconds may elapse before the amplifier is fully initialized.

Opening the Remote app on your phone will not wake the amplifier. Pressing the Stop button on the remote will wake the amplifier. Unless you do this, there will be a delay after tapping a quick function button before ringing begins.

User controls

Amplifier standby button

When the amplifier's standby button glows red and the display is dark, the amplifier is in Standby Mode. The cooling fan runs at a low speed to minimize ambient noise.

When the amplifier's standby button glows blue and none of the zoning mute buttons are lit, the amplifier is in Ready Mode and all outputs without lit MUTE buttons are enabled. If you press the standby button, it will turn red and all zone mute buttons will all glow red, indicating that the user has temporarily muted all output zones. This mode will be reset the next time the system puts the amplifier in Ready Mode.

Amplifier zone mute buttons

The top row of buttons labeled MUTE are zone specific mutes. Lights on these buttons do not reflect zones that may have been muted in the carillon operating system.

Refer to the connection diagrams of your system to determine which of the outputs A B C D control specific speaker zones for your installation. Some outputs may be outside and some inside. Some outputs are combined together to increase power to a given zone. Combined zones will light together when one button is pressed.

Pressing an output's MUTE button causes that particular zone to be muted until the button is pressed again. While the power button's global mute will be reset the next time the system plays automatically, the MUTE buttons retain their status when the system cycles or power is disconnected and restored. The button must be pressed when the amplifier is in the Ready Mode to reset a zone mute.
