A solid state replacement for the original Deagan electro-mechanical relay module used on the 67 type Tower Chime action.

Installation

- Remove old relay from top of the Deagan 67 action.
- Optionally remove bottom contacts and actuating arm to reduce friction and noise.
- Move coil return leads to positive terminal block (module coil outputs are negative)
- Move the head toward the chime. Replace the retraction cup with the new cup. Orient the cup so that the sensor cable exits the top. Tighten the cup bolt.
- Mount new module to the top of the action using the supplied bracket (terminal labels will be right-reading viewed from chime end).
- Connect positive and negative 48V as shown.
- Briefly, power the system and be sure the POLARITY REVERSED light does not come on.
- Connect the coil leads to the output terminals. Strike coil is the large bobbin at the chime end. Retract coil is at the rear. Optional O coil is the middle coil.
- Connect the action signal lead from the main relay to ACTUATION INPUT.
Testing
- Press the TEST ACTION button to test the striker.
- Press the TEST MODE button to select the test mode (1 to 3 times)
- Press the TEST MODE button to cancel tests
- Adjust the THRUST control clockwise for longer strike pulses. Reducing THRUST allows faster repeat times and lower chime ringing intensity.
Test Modes
- ERROR/MODE light not blinking - single strike
- ERROR/MODE light blinking once - 60 BPM for five minutes
- ERROR/MODE light blinking two times - 120 BPM for five minutes
- ERROR/MODE light blinking three times - 150 BPM for ten strikes
Error indications
- POLARITY REVERSED light indicates the motor generator or power supply leads are reversed.
- If coils are connected while reversed polarity voltage is supplied, the module will be damaged.
- Always verify polarity before connecting the action coils.
- ERROR light blinks steadily: The actuation input is stuck. Check for shorted keyboard or relay contacts.
- ERROR light on solid: Sensor error or strike cycle took longer than expected. Check connections and lubricate action.
