Scope of Tower Chimes
Ten Notes
From F1 to G2 - nine diatonic notes with a flat 7th semitone:
- F, G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, E, F, G
- Toll hour on F, Westminster: G, C, D, E
Seventy-two Single Tone examples of these remain, and six with Harmonic Quintamonic Tuning, although not large enough to play harmonic arrangements.
Twelve Notes
From E1 to G2 with two semitones. The low E is the leading tone for the F major scale:
- E, F, G, A, Bb, B, C, D, Eb, E, F, G
Seventeen Single Tone chimes exist with twelve Notes.
- One thirteen tone chime exists in Ottumwa IA (Added C#-2, the minor sixth)
- Toll hour on E, Westminster: G, C, D, E
Fourteen Notes
Rare chime from E1 to G2 with all semitones except the minor third and minor ninth tones.

Three single tone and one Harmonic Quintamonic Tuned example remains.

Sixteen Notes
Very many fully chromatic chimes from E-1 to G-2.
